Hazard assessment

Subterra has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering and assessing land damage claims on behalf of the Natural Hazards Commission (formerly the Earthquake Commission) in New Zealand. Our team of qualified engineering geologists can undertake both qualitative and quantitative geotechnical assessment of existing or potential land damage. We offer a range of services, including detailed site investigation, soil testing and geotechnical investigation, and provide tailored remediation or mitigation options based on findings from geotechnical site investigations or contaminated soil assessments.

Some examples of geotechnical hazards include:

  • Liquefaction risk (including liquefaction assessment)

  • Active fault proximity

  • Slope instability (including slope stability assessment)

  • Rockfall risk
